Their Voice

Growing up in the Mormon church, Kristyn Michele was told that their voice was a gift from God and that they should share it with the world. But when a friend from church discovered Kristyn in a same-sex relationship and reported them, they were publicly kicked out of the church and their relationship to music fractured. It wasn’t until years later that they recognized themselves as non-binary and began to transition.
